How Bail Bonds Work In Compton

Anytime someone is arrested in the city of Compton, they will usually be taken to the Compton Jail, which is located at 301 S. Willowbrook Ave, Compton, CA 90220. After the inmate arrives at the Compton Jail, an officer on duty at the jail will confiscate any personal belongings that the inmate may have on him or her at the time for safekeeping for the duration of the case or for the rest of the time that the defendant spends at the jail.

When that is complete, the jailer will then begin the booking process, which could take a long time depending on how busy the jail is at that time. The booking process may take anywhere from 45 minutes to several hours. The initial step of the booking process includes the jailer gathering some personal information such as the defendant’s name and date of birth and the inmate will also have to take a photo so that the jailer could put all of that information into the Los Angeles Sheriff’s database. The next step of the booking process would be the fingerprint scan, which is done via a machine called Live Scan. The Live Scan machine is directly connected to the department of justice and is used to figure out if the inmate has any outstanding warrants or is wanted by any other agency in the area.

No inmate can post bail until the jailer receives the results from the fingerprint scan and is cleared for bail by the jailer. If you want to bail out the inmate, then you will have to wait until the inmate is cleared for bail. When you bail out the inmate, you could either post the full bail amount at the jail or hire a bail bonds agency to post the bond on your behalf. The results from the fingerprint scan can take anywhere from 45 minutes to several hours to get back to the jailer and it usually depends on the individual circumstances of the inmate.

Once the jailer receives the results, he or she will determine if the inmate is cleared for bail and will officially assign the inmate a court date, a bail amount, and will clear the defendant for bail. Once the agent confirms that the inmate is cleared for bail, he or she will then begin the jail release process for Compton. The agent will then post the bond at the jail and will begin the jail release process for the city of Compton. Once the inmate is released from the jail, he or she will be given all of the information that he needs to know in order to fight his or her case.  It is important that the defendant shows up to all of his or her court dates or the court will issue a bench warrant for his or her arrest.
